Thierry Mugler is a young brand that mirrors one of high fashion. The target customers are primarily ladies in the age group of 16-38 years of age. These women tend to be more trend based and with a fashion conscious and modern outlook.They also are ready to experiment with new and unique designs, colors, and styles.

My name is Hannah Bressler (she/her) and I wanted to style a collection inspired by Gucci SS17. I wanted to showcase the whimsical nature I feel Gucci has always had whilst still giving it that classic 70s spin that Alessandro Michele has shifted Gucci towards. In regards to the fashion show's theme this year which was "Protagonist" I wanted to lean into a space in which I felt people were not going to go. I was particularly inspired by faeries in classic fairytales as they are usually side characters who help out the main protagonist whether that be a princess or a local village girl.

The Pomelo for Gucci client is a young woman with a career in fashion that loves to have fun and play with colour. She loves to show off her creativity by utilizing texture, bright pops of colour, and fun accessories. With her editor position at the fashion magazine she works at, she makes around 75-80k. She loves going out with her friends when she is not at work and she just wants to live her life to the fullest.

I am a student graduating with degrees in biochemistry, honors liberal arts, and apparel design and merchandising. The ideas that motivated my designs for this collection is looking at the conception of female modesty and sexuality through a Christian informed lens and how that perspective can dually limit and empower a woman’s self expression and bodily autonomy. My collection draws visual inspiration from feminist films like Promising Young Woman and Jennifer’s Body in their bubblegum pop aesthetics but also from cultural icons of sexuality like the image of Marilyn Monroe and Playboy.
